Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What type of club is the IVWMC?

A: We are a strong group of female riders who have a love of riding, sisterhood, and charity work. We are not a 1% club. We do not allow or condone any type of criminal activity among our Sisters (i.e. drug crimes, felony crimes, etc.)

Q: Can anyone join?

A: Any woman, eighteen (18) years of age or older, is a candidate for entry into the Sisterhood, with a 250 cc or higher, any style motorcycle. Mopeds, scooters and/or Vespa will not be allowed. She must also exhibit good character and has not been convicted of a felony. A Sister must also have a valid motorcycle license or endorsement.

Q: What is a Vixen At Large?

A: A Vixen at Large is a full patch Sister who does not live within a 100 mile range of a chapter yet has proven herself to be a worthy sister. She has completed the requirements and been voted as a suitable candidate for sisterhood by the entire nation.

Q: You have a state bottom rocker. Does that mean you “claim” the state as territory?

A: We carry a state bottom rocker to indicate where we are from. We do not claim any state as territory.

Q: What does it mean to be a Hang-Around?

A: A Hang Around is a woman who has expressed an interest to learn more about the Sisterhood of the IVWMC. She is invited to events by a full patch Sister.

Q: What does it mean to be a Prospect?

A: A prospect is a woman who has stated a clear intention of being a full patch member of the club and be part of the sisterhood. She will have a sponsor in the club who is responsible for her training and guidance. She is NOT yet a full patch member.

Q: Can men join IVWMC?

A: No, the IVWMC is a Women's Motorcycle Club

Q: Is the IVWMC a “mail-order” club?

A: The IVWMC is NOT a mail order club. Our Sisters must follow traditional MC practices. A prospective sister must have completed a satisfactory Hang-Around time and a Prospect Time before being voted into the chapter/club as a full patch Sister.

Q: Are you affiliated with any other club as a support or are you independent?

A: We are an independent Women's Motorcycle Club. We are not a support club for or affiliated with any other motorcycle club.

Q: How do I join?

A: Send us an email using our contact page  and we will have one of the chapters or sisters closest to you reach out. The first step is establishing why you want to join and learning about the club. After an undetermined Hangaround period, you may be asked to prospect. Prospects who work hard to learn about the history of the Iron Vixens and prove they have the riding ability and passion for the sisterhood may be patched in
